One & One Is Two

In January 1964, the Beatles were playing concerts in Paris, France at the Olympia Theatre. During this time, Paul McCartney and John Lennon composed a song called “One & One Is Two”. Around January 20th, Paul recorded a primitive solo demo of this new Lennon/McCartney track. The tape of this demo was delivered to the Beatles’ music publishing company, Dick James Music Limited and a limited number of acetates were cut in order to shop this song to other music artists for possible recording. Although never professionally recorded by the Beatles, this song was subsequently recorded by Mike Shannon And The Strangers later in 1964. Label VG+, Disc G, Plays G.

This acetate is commonly found on unauthorized releases and is occasionally available - here
