| 1958 | That'll Be The Day | |||||||||
| In Spite Of All Danger (edited) | VG | ANT 1 | EXP | |||||||
| This is the Quarry Men acetate and the earliest known recording of The Beatles. It features John, Paul, | ||||||||||
| and George on guitars with Colin Hanton on drums and John "Duff" Lowe on bass. Recorded at Percy | ||||||||||
| Phillips' recording facility in Liverpool. These tracks are mono. | ||||||||||
| mid 1960 | LIVERPOOL' REHEARSALS (BRAUN - KIRCHHERR TAPE) | EX | WILD, PUT, BK | EXP | ||||||
| These recordings are commonly referenced as being recorded at one of The Beatles' homes in Liverpool or, | ||||||||||
| more frequently, somewhere in Germany. One reference that I see no comment on is Alan William's statement | ||||||||||
| in his book "The Man Who Gave The Beatles Away" (pages 104-114) in regard to recording The Beatles in the | ||||||||||
| basement of his Jacaranda Club and sending the [poor quality] tapes to club owners and promoters in Germany. | ||||||||||
| To me, this would seem like a good possibility for the source of these tapes | ||||||||||
