The Beatles had won The Ivor Novello Awards For 1966 but
decined to attend the 27 March ceremonies. Instead, they agreed to accept the award on tape. The BBC's Brian Matthew interviewed John and Paul at the start of this night's session. LISTEN Part 1 LISTEN Part 2 Matthew was currently hosting the BBC radio program Top Of The Pops and took this opportunity to interview John and Paul for use on the program. LISTEN These interviews were recorded on reel E63372. They were cut out of the reel and taken by Matthew. |
